Top public officials including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Secretary Amit Shah and other senior BJP officials will attend activities across the nation on Friday for the International Yoga Day.

While the prime minister will lead the country to celebrate the occasion by taking part in a mega case in Ranchi, Shah will be in the domestic capital in Rohtak and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.  While the Prime Minister will lead the nation by taking part in a mega event in Ranchi to celebrate the occasion, Amit Shah will be in Rohtak and Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh in the national capital.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working chairman J P Nadda will conduct yoga in a park opposite the headquarters of the saffron party on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Marg here together with other party politicians and employees. In addition, newly elected Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will take part in a case to be held at the Parliament House complex premises, authorities said on Thursday.

A host of events were planned in Delhi to mark the day celebrated on June 21 worldwide. At the Prabhat Tara floor in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, all needed arrangements were made in the midst of tight safety, authorities said.

According to its chief Manoj Tiwari, the Delhi BJP would hold around 300 yoga sessions across the domestic capital, attended by about 10 lakh individuals. "On International Yoga Day, senior BJP officials and Union ministers will participate in 40 major activities," he added.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend a yoga session at the Yamuna Sports Complex in Shahdara, along with East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir. Other Union ministers attending International Yoga Day activities in Delhi were Ravi Shankar Prasad (Hauz Khas), Piyush Goyal (Lodhi Garden), Harsh Vardhan (Kudesia Garden, Civil Lines), Smriti Irani (Dada Dev Ground, Raj Nagar), Thawar Chand Gehlot (Sangam Vihar), Dharmendra Pradhan (Talkatora Garden), Ramesh Pokhriyal (Burari), Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi (Ramjas Sports Ground, Patel Nagar) and others.

In the domestic capital, all three BJP-led municipal corporations also scheduled activities for the day. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) will host an event at Qudsia Bagh close Kashmiri Gate, ISBT, while at Talkatora Stadium the southern corporation will host an event.
